Jam Jar

Image
In this transition, each of us has become future-ready even before we thought of it, similarly, we have also obtained so many options unlatched. When we were kids, we all wanted to become a doctor, someday a lawyer, or maybe run a business or something. Skip to 20 years and you see different career choices right in front of you. The follow-up question is how does one know which career is best suited for them? So, I happened to recently read this book The Defining Decade by Meg Jay- which had a very beautiful case study I’d like to share. It is called the Jam experiment, so they choose a local grocery store to understand one's life choices. So, there were two conditions, one which has six flavors available for tasting, whereas in the second condition it has six plus the eighteen more flavors of jam. Cut to the chase study showed that the twenty-four-flavor table attracted more attention yet resulted in fewer buyers. Shoppers flocked to the exciting array, yet most became overwhelmed

Best Haruki Murakami Books

Image
I realized I have not recommended books in a very long time so thought of making this one. So today I am suggesting books by one of my favorite authors, Haruki Murakami. Just to brief you about him, he is a Japanese author who is well known as a novelist of magical fiction. His work is so beautiful that every single thing is way too relatable, moreover it creates a curiosity to know more about the human identity. On a personal note, I admire his style of collaborating unique stories and in the end, it always gives you the answers which we often look out for in our daily lives. 1. Norwegian Wood This book is about a man named Tori who is completely disturbed by the death of his dear friend. Eventually, he falls in love with his friend’s girlfriend, Naoko and finds his calm in solace. I am sure after hearing this you could imagine what twists and turns this would take you through, oh boy I am sure it will meet your expectations. The book transports back to his student days which is

Why you should practice gratitude?🤔

As it is rightly said, develop an attitude of gratitude. In recent times, it is mainly overlooked, as people have been going through so much and it is hardly possible for some to be positive. As a matter of fact, gratitude is a great exercise which can allow us to tune into details of our lives which we often ignore. It could be as small as thanking for someone’s generous act, thanking god for good food and so on. Might not make complete sense to you, but let me tell you why one should be grateful. One common key in people who are successful is that they practice gratitude in some way or the other. How does it work? It is not like they haven’t been through pitfalls, of course they have but it depends on how you take it. Gratitude is something that you need to feel from inside. If you are in your down phase, start brick by brick thank about a skill you learned, if not skill thank that you didn’t get sick and if we got sick thank that you at least did not die. All in all, there are alway

How to find your purpose in life?

Each of us are surrounded by people who are aware of what they want from life, whereas there are some who prefer to go with the flow. Your purpose changes as we grow in life, when we learn new things, meet new people and explore the different aspects of the world. Once you realize what is significant for you, I believe that’s your turning point. Easier to say that finding a purpose is more like a tool to live a happier and healthier life. By and large it requires a lot of patience and confidence. These could be few strategies I have jotted down which can help you lead a meaningful life. 1. Explore the world within you: If there is a mantra to have a purpose keep trying things, explore within you. Evaluate yourself try your hands into different things as in start with cooking or anything you wish to learn, ask questions while performing that activity are you like really enjoying what you are doing? As and when you attempt it is your will that will force you to push towards yo

Have that one person in your life

Each of us want distinct things from life, but there is a familiar bottom line for all of us which is to be happy. Affirmative to say having people who bring out the best in you and with whom you can have healthy discussions. Talking about the things that matter to you and with whom you can share almost everything. It is just the vibe with certain people which helps you connect on an inner level. Make sure you pick them wisely. We certainly find things right from our view as we are blindfolded by reality, this is when you need that one person to guide you in the right direction and be brutally honest with you. The truth might sound bitter, but that’s what we sometimes want to hear. Of course, the choice is always yours, you choose what you want. In spite of all this if they make a wrong decision make sure to be a supportive friend. Apart from this, there are people who give you constant unasked opinions, however prospect people who are non-judgmental who could really understand you at

There is always hope

Image
“However difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. Where there’s life, there’s hope.”                                                ~Stephen Hawking For more than a year now our lives have been insane. We have been through so many changes that maybe it will not be easy to get back to normalcy. Currently, you will find the need to resist to not speak up and you just want to process it in your system to be okay with it. Hope is a remedy for all your griefs; trust me believing and having that one ray of hope can do wonders. We just have to make sure you don’t give up the ship so easily. Whatever you are going through you will get through it, you are way more powerful than you can think of. If you believe that things are not working out just look back and see how far you have come. We are grateful to have hope as our biggest asset. It’s a constant battle with yourself which can be muddling. Thomas Edison

4 business books you must read

Image
The one most familiar thing that I have heard from my friends is that they wish to read business books but can’t decide which one to start from. Everyone has a different taste and some books may work for you while some may not. So, I thought of recommending you 4 best business books I have read which I found had nuggets of gold and are worth giving it a shot. 1. Ambani and Sons: I have been meaning to find Polyester Prince but it wasn’t available and I came across this book. The book is very catchy and will hold your attention till the end. The way the author has started would already convince you to know what’s further? When Dhirubhai asserted ‘Jealousy is a mark of respect’ I felt it was just impeccable. This book explains the whole evolution of Indian business including the gloomy side of Indian business and politics. You also get an insight of an old school Gujarati family man and a mastermind building a first-class foundation. Later on, this book also explains the dispute b

It's okay to keep few questions unanswered in life.

There are always unanswered questions which remain in some part of our lives and the curiosity hits us at some point of life. Like should I ask what actually it was? Should I stay or leave? Why does that person makes me feel like that? and which leads you to ask yourself who are you? The intriguing possibilities of self doubt can crunch your heart but in the long run you'd realise it was perfect choice made. Rather than being harsh on yourself and have a closure it's okay to keep it unresolved as naturally you'll get the grounds of why it happened.  There have been occurances, just some paradigm I notice; where I felt to get a closure on certain relations, decisions that didn't work for me, why did someone make me feel in that specific way etc. Of course a person like me would dwell upon the same. However I observed that when I shifted my energy and focus to more significant things in life not only did I elevate and evolve but things started automatically making sense t

Learn to listen

Listening is often the only thing needed to help someone. In today's world of high technology and stress, genuine and attentive listening has become rare.  A very simple activity of listening when not done leads to unnecessary strain and suffering. World is easy place to live in if you have right person to listen, whom you could endless rant with no guilt what so ever.  Lending a ear to someone is best you could do when that person is at their lowest. Listen to them like you listen to a kid, try to put yourself in their shoes, hear out how one feels, don't analyse the statements and give judgments over the same. Acquire information; listen to understand people and situations before responding over it. Make sure not to mirror back with your problems as it may sound disrespectful. While it may be often difficult for you to listen to that person use your mind make mental notes and be present trust me even these small act can make a huge difference.  Taking everything into account,
