In this transition, each of us has become future-ready even before we thought of it, similarly, we have also obtained so many options unlatched. When we were kids, we all wanted to become a doctor, someday a lawyer, or maybe run a business or something. Skip to 20 years and you see different career choices right in front of you. The follow-up question is how does one know which career is best suited for them? So, I happened to recently read this book The Defining Decade by Meg Jay- which had a very beautiful case study I’d like to share. It is called the Jam experiment, so they choose a local grocery store to understand one's life choices. So, there were two conditions, one which has six flavors available for tasting, whereas in the second condition it has six plus the eighteen more flavors of jam. Cut to the chase study showed that the twenty-four-flavor table attracted more attention yet resulted in fewer buyers. Shoppers flocked to the exciting array, yet most became overwhelmed...

Memories stay with us forever!

We come across so many people in our lives, sharing different equations with an individual. So many words spoken and unspoken, so many thoughts shared, so many emotions, so many memories, happiness, rejection, grief, and what not.  Each of us would definitely have some of the notable memories with someone be it even a stranger. Such moments stay immortal with us it doesn't matter whether it was positive or negative. Times have been such that it could be with someone whom you are in touch or maybe lost contact, but it's memories that associates you. Nevertheless there might not be a logic behind why do you recall certain specific incident but it stays in your mind forever.  We can either engrave the sweet memories and bury the painful in the grave and move on. Mumbai, as rightly said is not just a city but an emotion. This situation has really amazed us on shutting down of things for a while and we miss them. Lifeline of the city, locals have been shut, this is the longest interruption of services we have come across. Being late and seeing the train late too, is such a blessing in disguise, and ofcourse during the peak hours how adventure it is to travel. Where each of us would unquestionably have a story to talk about. Hearing some strangers gossips and then pretending that you did not listen, oh c'mon all of us do that. From every song you listen, and the joy of the window seat is all that you need. Every friend who is your travel partner. Unlike other Indian cities where we have ‘train friends’ who by virtue of travelling everyday in the same railway compartment become friends. Each of us want distinct things from life, but there is a familiar bottom line for all of us which is to be happy. Affirmative to say having people who bring out the best in you and with whom you can have healthy discussions. Talking about the things that matter to you and with whom you can share almost everything. It is just the vibe with certain people which helps you connect on an inner level. Make sure you pick them wisely. We certainly find things right from our view as we are blindfolded by reality, this is when you need that one person to guide you in the right direction and be brutally honest with you. The truth might sound bitter, but that’s what we sometimes want to hear. Of course, the choice is always yours, you choose what you want. In spite of all this if they make a wrong decision make sure to be a supportive friend.
