Jam Jar

In this transition, each of us has become future-ready even before we thought of it, similarly, we have also obtained so many options unlatched. When we were kids, we all wanted to become a doctor, someday a lawyer, or maybe run a business or something. Skip to 20 years and you see different career choices right in front of you. The follow-up question is how does one know which career is best suited for them? So, I happened to recently read this book The Defining Decade by Meg Jay- which had a very beautiful case study I’d like to share. It is called the Jam experiment, so they choose a local grocery store to understand one's life choices. So, there were two conditions, one which has six flavors available for tasting, whereas in the second condition it has six plus the eighteen more flavors of jam. Cut to the chase study showed that the twenty-four-flavor table attracted more attention yet resulted in fewer buyers. Shoppers flocked to the exciting array, yet most became overwhelmed

How to find your purpose in life?

Each of us are surrounded by people who are aware of what they want from life, whereas there are some who prefer to go with the flow. Your purpose changes as we grow in life, when we learn new things, meet new people and explore the different aspects of the world. Once you realize what is significant for you, I believe that’s your turning point. Easier to say that finding a purpose is more like a tool to live a happier and healthier life.

By and large it requires a lot of patience and confidence. These could be few strategies I have jotted down which can help you lead a meaningful life.

1. Explore the world within you:

If there is a mantra to have a purpose keep trying things, explore within you. Evaluate yourself try your hands into different things as in start with cooking or anything you wish to learn, ask questions while performing that activity are you like really enjoying what you are doing? As and when you attempt it is your will that will force you to push towards your boundaries and get what you want.

2. Read, Read and Read:

I can’t stress more on the fact of how effective can reading be for us. If you are already doing favorable, but if not you are missing on something prominent. Habit which can help you connect to an era or imagination we can hardly think about. Automated system that works subconsciously of where, what and why to react over situations. Find books that matter to you, find your genre and they might help you to see what matters in your life.

3. Surround yourself with people who make you grow:

Staying close to people who bring healthy conversations over the table are the best kind of people. Conversations that matter to you, now how do you decide whether those conversations are valuable for you. Take a look at people around you, what are your common basis? What are you taking away from conversation? Is it creating a positive impact over you?

4. Listen to feedbacks:

It is not easy to recognize the praiseworthy aspects and shortcomings of things we are extremely passionate about, Afterall you had started from getting out of your comfort zone so not getting carried away by the praise and taking constructive criticism is more like a room for improvement. Look for the observations you get from people and accordingly consider of what could be better for you.
